Made for the Jewelry Clubs Nature Inspired Contest [link] with [link] by :iconbetuwefotograaf: as the inspiration piece

Crackle beads and chocolate freshwater pearls for the branches, glass leaves, riverstone and cherry quartz for the buds, imperial glass daggers for the icicles :P

i felt inspired by this particular piece because to me it represented natures attempt to preserve the beauty of the flowers through the harshness of winter

i think i spent more time deciding on what beads to use than i did actually making the necklace, as i wanted it to look as much like the photo as possible. it even led me to stand knee deep in a freezing cold stream full of eels and leeches and other nasty little creatures just to get the right atmosphere for the photo. but it was worth it to get even a little closer to capturing the beauty of the inspirational photo.

The necklace reminds me of a water nymph in a way. It's very earthy but seems to belong near the water. The marriage of brown, pink and white is lovely. It converges in a cascade at the end, like it's a waterfall.
